A microscope equipped with infinity objectives is undoubtedly a more sophisticated and high-performance instrument than a normal one: a tool that is also suitable for high-level scientific observation.
The infinity objectives allow to simplify the use of the microscope with some particular techniques such as fluorescence, polarized light or others, and to obtain sharper and chromatically correct images.
The lenses of these objectives focus the image of the sample to infinity and no more than 160 mm. of distance therefore the distance between objective and eyepiece can be modified without the optical resolution problems of the traditional objectives.
In addition, there is less danger of reflections and no need for eyepieces to compensate for the aberrations of a normal lens.
