FASTER AND SHARPER OPTICAL SYSTEM The MEADE LX850 telescopes use Schmidt-Cassegrain ACF™ (Advanced Coma Free) tubes with a fast f/8 focal length and high contrast to ensure sharp, bright images with point stars at the edge of the field of view.

All new MEADE optical tubes incorporate an internal Crayford focuser with no shifting and a dual system with 7:1 speed reduction.

SOLID GERMAN EQUATORIAL MOUNT WITH HIGH PRECISION MECHANICS Built from machined stainless steel and aluminium of the type used for aircraft fuselage, the MEADE LX850 mount represents a solid and robust platform with bearings (ball bearings) on both axles and an AR shaft of stainless steel and 44.5mm diameter.

Its 17.2mm diameter brass bevels and 255 tooth, 147.32mm diameter aluminium crowns provide smooth and precise movement even when carrying a load of up to 40kg.

The MEADE LX850 telescope mount offers a fully computerised system with GOTO, GPS and a database that offers the possibility of navigating to 144,000 objects.

All this is mounted on a new super-stable tripod designed according to the needs of this mount.

STARLOCK - PERMANENT AUTOMATIC GUIDANCE SYSTEM The StarLock is the revolutionary new technology that automatically tracks a guide star using an image sensor and ensures that it is guided very precisely during the exhibitions and in a fully automatic way.

The StarLock uses an 80mm diameter optical system at f/5 and a large field lens in a two-camera system that automatically finds your object with great accuracy, and immediately captures the image of the star field with stars up to magnitude 11, providing guidance with an accuracy of one arc second.

There is no longer any need for a parallel guidance system or a PC.

The StarLock does not require the user to focus or select a guide star.

StarLock automatically schedules periodic Error Correction and is then able to correct other errors virtually to virtual zero.

With the combination of one of the best optics, a robust German Equatorial mount and the revolutionary StarLock system, the MEADE LX850 mount is the most complete astrophotography solution available on the market today.

General features of the MEADE LX850-ACF 14" f/8 Advanced Coma Free astronomical telescope with UHTC The MEADE LX850-ACF series is the latest addition to the more than prestigious range of technological products developed by MEADE.

The LX850-ACF series has been designed to take you to the next level in both visual observation and optics.

With a fast f/8 optical system with ACF (coma correction) the LX850-ACF offers a wider and flatter field of view with point stars (due to the absence of a coma) to the outer limits of the field of view captured by the largest CCD sensors and wide field eyepieces.

Included with the MEADE LX850-ACF telescopes is the STARLOCK system which is a guidance system (with two cameras) that is permanently guiding with an accuracy of 1 arc second, also incorporating an Ultra-Precision pointing system and a drift alignment aid routine.

It incorporates 225 tooth crowns with a crown/bronze step system with a very low periodic error, internal wiring, GPS receiver, GOTO AUTOSTAR II system with a library of over 144,000 objects, large capacity tripod with adjustable height and anti-vibration mounts, MEADE MICRO-FOCUSER electronic focuser with zero shifting, connection cable to PC USB port and AutoStar Suite software.

The optics are the highest quality of the MEADE with its comma-free system, Advanced Coma Free (ACF), showing perfectly punctual stars and totally flat fields so desired by amateur astronomers, astrophotographers as well as researchers from professional observatories.

This patented system also reduces astigmatism and eliminates the diffraction spikes so typical of classic Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes.

This MEADE LX850-ACF 14" (356mm) astronomical telescope features an f/8 focal ratio with ACF optics and a focal length of 2845mm while integrating UHTC (Ultra High Transmission Coatings) for maximum brightness and contrast.

All new tubes include an internal Crayford focuser with zero shifting and double speed with a 7:1 reduction.
