The Intel Core i7-12650H is a 12th generation processor with 10 cores and 16 threads, combining high-performance cores (P-Cores) with efficient cores (E-Cores). This makes it excellent for multitasking, productivity, and gaming. The 4GB RTX 3050, while an entry-level GPU in the gaming range, allows for 1080p gaming with medium-high settings in titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, or Hogwarts Legacy. In competitive games like Valorant, CS2, or Fortnite, it can easily exceed 100 FPS. For light editing and modeling tasks, the performance is decent, although if you're looking for something more powerful, an RTX 3060 would be a better option. How is the 15.6” display and how does it perform for gaming? This model features a 144Hz Full HD IPS display, making it an interesting option for gaming. The refresh rate allows for greater fluidity and reduced motion blur, which is key in high-level gaming. However, the color coverage is not the best for design or professional editing tasks, as it does not achieve premium-level color reproduction. For gaming and content consumption, the image quality is more than sufficient. How is the cooling in this model? The MSI Thin 15 uses a cooling system with Cooler Boost 5, which incorporates two fans and several heat pipes. Under normal tasks, the temperature remains stable, but during prolonged gaming or rendering sessions, the CPU can reach temperatures of 85-90°C and the GPU around 75°C. While this is not concerning, it is recommended to use a cooling pad to improve airflow and avoid potential performance drops due to thermal throttling. Can the RAM and storage be upgraded? Yes, this laptop allows for RAM and storage upgrades. It comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM in two modules (2x8GB) but supports up to 64GB. Regarding storage, it includes a 1TB NVMe SSD but has a second M.2 slot to add another SSD if you need more space. It's for you if: You are looking for a gaming laptop with good performance at 1080p. You want a device with a 144Hz display for competitive gaming. You need a laptop with 1TB of SSD storage. You are interested in a device with the possibility to upgrade RAM and storage. You are looking for a lightweight laptop within the gaming range.
