The National Auctioneers Association (NAA) has launched a blog (first appearing yesterday, September 21, 2020) — www.howauctionswork.com.
On the blog, NAA notes the following:
The Auctions Work blog is produced by the National Auctioneers Association.
Our goal is to educate the public on how and why auctions – and NAA auction professionals – are preferred in the marketplace.
It appears each blog will address at least one (or more) categories of auctions including real estate, fundraising, personal assets, commercial assets, online auctions, and general interest.
The plan for content is about two blog posts per month, although the initial rollout had 13 entries.
The site also has some videos and other informative links.
We’ve added this site to our “blog roll” on the left-hand side of our blog.
NAA auctioneers are some of the best-educated auctioneers on earth and adhere to a code of ethics promoting good behavior.
In some sense, the better your auctioneer, the better (your) the auction.
Content on the blog appears to come via — or with the assistance of — a variety of NAA members with particular expertise in the subject at hand.
This is a great resource for buyers and sellers interested in the auction method of marketing.
Auctioneers should pay attention to this content as well.
It’s quite likely you will be meeting with a client who has read some/all of this content and will expect you to be familiar with it and be able to discuss and/or answer questions.
Much like many occupations, the barrier to entry for most auctioneers is not great.
The more every auctioneer endeavors to improve themselves by reading, watching, listening, etc.
the better educated the entire industry will become.
The highest caliber education for auctioneers comes from the National Auctioneers Association.
Their Conference and Show, periodic seminars, Designation Academy, and especially the Certified Auctioneers Institute provides auctioneers unparalleled educational and networking opportunities.
The “Auctions Work” blog is yet another educational tool for the public as well as all auctioneers.
We invite you and anyone interested in auctions to partake in all the forthcoming content.
