The Levenhuk MED D40T LCD digital microscope not only includes the Köhler infinity-corrected flat achromatic optical system and illumination, but also includes a digital camera with LCD in the kit. The microscope is designed for professionals. It can be used in laboratories, medical centres and academic institutions for student training. It is suitable for research purposes as well as for presentations, workshops and conferences.

Levenhuk MED 40 series microscopes are equipped with an infinity corrected optical system used in professional and high quality microscopes. This system includes infinity corrected plan achromatic objectives that produce clear, high-contrast images with a high level of flatness.

One of the most important features of an infinity-corrected optical system is that it allows any additional elements to be installed in the path between the objective lens and the eyepiece lens. The additional elements include polarisers, epifluorescence light and DIC prisms which have minimal focus deviations and correct aberrations. In summary, their design and ease of use make Levenhuk MED 40 microscopes ideal optical instruments for use in various types of microscopy and work in haematology, histology, microbiology and other laboratories.

The trinocular head can be rotated 360°, making the microscope practical for group studies. The binocular viewing part is inclined by 30°, while the eye tube where a digital camera is installed is vertical. The kit includes a 5 MP camera with LCD. There is no need to connect the camera to a computer or install any additional software. The camera displays the image on the integrated screen. It can be connected to an external display or television, or to additional equipment (headphones, keyboard, computer mouse, etc.). Memory cards and other data storage devices can be used. The camera can take pictures and record high-resolution videos.

The eyepieces have a 10x magnification, ensure a clear view and allow dioptric adjustment. There are five lenses with varying degrees of magnification. The 100x lens is suitable for making observations using the oil-immersion method. Three objectives are equipped with a retractable edge to protect the optics from incidental damage. All optical surfaces of the accessories are protected by an anti-fungal coating.

The stage can be moved along two axes and is equipped with a mechanical micrometer. The lighting system, which consists of an LED and an Abbe capacitor with an iris diaphragm, is located under the stage. There is a filter holder. The brightness of the illumination is adjustable.
