Wiko View3 Pro, analysis. Review with features, price and specifications

After passing through the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, ??Wiko launched last May its new commitment to the mid-range, the Wiko View3 and the Wiko View3 Pro.

They are two terminals that are very similar on the outside but slightly different on the inside, being the more powerful of the two, the Pro model, which we have had the opportunity to test and analyze.

The Wiko View3 Pro differs from its little brother, mainly, in the screen, which is FullHD +, the amount of RAM (4 or 6 GB instead of 3 GB) and the processor, which is an eight-core MediaTek Helio P60 at a maximum of 2 GHz.

At its back, a triple camera with a wide angle and ToF sensor and, inside, a 4,000 mAh battery.

The model that we have analyzed is the 6/128 GB Wiko View3 Pro, and here are the results.

Wiko View3 Pro datasheet WIKO VIEW3 PRO DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT 159.5 x 75 x 8.1 mm 184 grams 6.3-inch IPS / LCD SCREEN FullHD + resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) Drop-shaped notch PROCESSOR MediaTek Helio P60GPU Mali- G72 MP3 MEMORY RAM 4/6 GB INTERNAL STORAGE 64/128 GB expandable with microSD cards REAR CAMERA Triple camera of 12 + 5 + 13 megapixels ToF sensor Wide angle FRONT CAMERA 16 megapixels BATTERY 4,000 mAh OPERATING SYSTEM Android 9 Foot OTHERS Face unlock, fingerprint reader rear, USB type C, headphone jack, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth PRICE 299 euros WIKO View3 Pro + Housing - 6.3 ”FHD + Smartphone (Triple Camera, 4000mAh for 2 days of autonomy, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM, Octa-Core 2.0 GHz, Android 9, Dual SIM) Nightfall Design: glass back for a Wiko that feels good in the hand As tradition dictates, let's start by talking about design.

The Wiko View3 Pro is built in glass and finished in two colors, both gradients: one blue that turns green and the other black that turns purple as the light hits it.

The latter is that we have had the opportunity to analyze ourselves and the mirror effect has caught our attention and that the gradient is also applied to the side edges of the terminal (but it is paint, not a finish as such).

However, this glass construction does not finish giving that premium feeling that devices built in this material transmit.

It feels better than polycarbonate, but to the touch, one way or another, it feels less noble than other terminals made of glass.

In addition, like all mobile made of glass, the prints are quite marked.

Despite being built in glass, the back does not feel premium beyond that and although it will depend on the personal tastes of each one, the Wiko View3 Pro has seemed to us a beautiful mobile and with some details that we like, like that the unlock button has a small engraving that indicates that we are touching said button and not the volume buttons; and others that are not so popular, such as that the microphone on the lower edge is not centered with the rest of the elements or that the camera, when protruding, causes the mobile to wobble.

Reviewing the back, which we have already said has a gradient and mirror effect, we find the module with the triple camera, the LED flash, the fingerprint reader centered with the vertical axis of the device and in a comfortable position and the name of the Mark.

It is an aesthetic that is familiar to us, especially if we take a look at the latest Huawei devices.

The upper edge houses the 3.5 mm jack (an interesting point since it allows us to use conventional wired headphones), the right one the start button and the volume button (a little higher than the comfortable position for the thumb), the left the tray for the hybrid Dual SIM and the lower one, finally, the speaker, the USB type C and the microphone (off-center).

It has dimensions of 159.5 millimeters high, 75 millimeters wide, 8.1 millimeters thick and a weight of 184 grams, so it is not an excessively thick device.

In hand it feels sturdy, being light enough to be used correctly with one hand but heavy enough to convey a sense of resistance.

We will now talk about the screen, but the chin at the bottom and the drop notch at the top are striking, both elements half a centimeter wide.

: a little more brightness would not hurt We continue with the screen.

We are facing a 6.3-inch IPS / LCD panel and, although the figure seems too high, the truth is that the Wiko View3 Pro does not feel like one.

true that it is large enough so that it is not entirely comfortable to use it with u With just one hand, but via software you can make some gestures to facilitate the work, such as swiping down on the home screen to display the notification curtain.

In terms of resolution, as a mid-range that it is, we have a FullHD + panel (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9, which translates into a pixel density of 409 dpi, more than enough for the experience is good.

As much as you get closer to the panel, you will not be able to see the pixels.

We have had no problem reading, chatting or consulting social networks.

The FullHD + continues to work and as they say, if something works, don't touch it.

The screen, by default, comes a little warmer than usual.

Not too much, but enough so that whites don't end up being all white.

Fortunately, fixing it is as simple as going to Settings> Display> Screen Color and moving the cursor one point to the left.

This results in more faithful colors and really white whites.

It should be noted that in the screen settings we can also activate the night light so that, when night falls, the screen becomes more orange, the brightness is less incisive and does not disturb so much in low light situations.

And now that we are talking about using the mobile at night, the minimum brightness is low enough to use the mobile when the light is scarce, but the maximum brightness would not have hurt a couple of points more so that using it outdoors was more comfortable.

The screen is good, but in broad daylight a bit more brightness is needed for the experience to be round.

We have not had problems with the viewing angles or with unwanted reflections.

The only thing that can be highlighted as a negative is that, despite having a notch, the upper edge is slightly tucked into the screen (the panel does not reach the edge of the mobile) and that the notch is quite large.

In fact, it is curious, because from the settings you can remove the notch or put it in the shape of a drop of water, which adds a black border to the sides that covers a little more screen.

Speaker: good in sound and with headphone jack We cannot stop talking about the speaker and the sound section, in which the Wiko View3 Pro has surprised us for good.

The only bad thing is the position, which we will talk about now.

We have not had any problems listening to music or watching videos.

The sound is clear, the bass is not canned and the treble is correct.

Both the main speaker and the call speaker are heard loud and well.

The loudspeaker has punch, it sounds resounding and the performance is correct.

However, it is all said, the position is not the most comfortable.

The loudspeaker has been placed on the right side of the lower edge, so if you have big hands or hold the phone too high when holding it horizontally, you will almost certainly cover it.

This causes the sound to be canned and the overall quality is reduced.

It should be noted that Wiko has decided to keep the headphone jack and that it includes some in the box.

Mini point for Wiko.

Performance: it surprises, and for the better We will now talk about performance, a section in which Wiko View3 Pro has managed to leave us with a good taste in the mouth.

Reviewing the elements of its engine, Wiko has not wanted to fall short of RAM memory, so more as a bet for the future than as something that will be used in the day, it has chosen to introduce neither more nor less than 6 GB of RAM , a not inconsiderable figure whose behavior in multitasking has been more than correct.

It is accompanied by a MediaTek Helio P60 processor, one of the latest releases from the Chinese manufacturer.

This is an eight-core configuration with two clusters: one for maximum performance and one for power saving.

The performance one consists of four 2 GHz Cortex A73 cores, while the efficiency one consists of another four cores, this time Cortex A53, 2 GHz.

The GPU is the Mali-G72 MP3, enough to play as long as you accept that you will not be able to enjoy the games in the highest quality.

With 128 GB of expandable storage, space has not been a problem For storage, 128 GB of internal memory of which we can access 109.26 GB, a sufficient figure to store music, movies and videos of all kinds without running out space.

As if that were not enough, we can always insert a micro SD card of up to 256 GB.

Good numbers that we have not been able to fill anywhere near.

After the presentations, let's talk about the experience.

In day-to-day applications, such as WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram or Gmail, we have not had any type of limitation.

The opening times are correct, the navigation is fluid and switching between one app and another does not imply having to reload the app from scratch.

After all, there is 6GB of RAM doing its job, and it shows.

What should be noted is that the animations are a bit rough, especially when you go from a simple app like WhatsApp to one with a more important visual load like Instagram.

When it comes to games, things change when we talk about opening times.

It is quite slow loading cold games, especially the heavier ones.

To give a couple of examples, 'Asphalt 9: Legends' takes about 16 seconds to start, 'Pokémon GO' about 12 seconds and 'PUBG Mobile' about 18 until it reaches the loading screen.

However, to Caesar what is Caesar's, the performance once the application is ...
