The National Auctioneers Association (NAA), founded in 1949, is an advocacy group representing auctioneers, auction businesses and related companies.
NAA seeks to promote the auction method of marketing and the practice of auctioneering in the United States.
Their headquarters is located at 8880 Ballentine, Overland Park, Kansas, 66214, USA.
The NAA recently (July 13, 2020) updated its Mission, Vision, and Cornerstones making them official just before their Virtual 71st International Auctioneers Conference and Show, July 14-16, 2020.
The NAA’s Mission is as follows:
NAA serves auction entrepreneurs with services provided based on four cornerstones: promotions, advocacy, education, and community.
The NAA’s Vision is as follows:
NAA will be the voice of the auction profession.
The work is achieved through four cornerstones: Advocacy, Promotions, Community, Education.
Charges for the Four Cornerstones are as follows:
Advocacy: NAA advocates for policies on behalf of its members and for the adoption of the auction methodology of competitive bidding.
Promotions: NAA encourages the auction methodology of competitive bidding to the public and the value added to auction entrepreneurs by association membership.
Community: NAA will support auction entrepreneurs through community building that fosters relationships, shares knowledge, and advances the auction profession’s common causes.
Education: NAA provides relevant educational resources to auction entrepreneurs and their team members to build knowledge and skills to conduct auctions and grow their businesses successfully.
These Cornerstones are comprehensive … from advocating at the state and national level, promoting the auction method of marketing and the benefits of membership, enhancing relationships and networking opportunities and educating auctioneers on prudent practices and the latest technology.
Where can (and will) NAA improve? At minimum, I propose:
I’m confident NAA has the energy, personnel, and vision to serve its membership and the industry in the coming years.
There may never be a better time to be part of the National Auctioneers Association.
